FLANNEL DADDY VIBES
Cro-Mags × Clutch & Throttle: Age of Quarrel Hat Collaboration
REAL STORIES. GOOD GEAR. QUESTIONABLE DECISIONS.
REAL STORIES.
MORE THAN JUST FLANNELS.
Every once in a while, Sam over at Clutch & Throttle Gear Co. drops something that makes me go:
Son of a bitch. Now I need another hat.
This is definitely one of those times.
If you’re looking for the version we have in the Loot, check out the Clutch & Throttle Cro-Mags SnapBack, or browse the full Clutch & Throttle collection.

Clutch & Throttle teamed up with Cro-Mags for an Age of Quarrel cap collection covering a Dad Hat with curved brim and buckle, a curved-brim Trucker with mesh back, and a SnapBack.
Hardcore History, C&T Style
If you know hardcore, you already know The Age of Quarrel. Cro-Mags released the album in 1986, and it became one of the records permanently tied to New York hardcore.
That’s what makes this collaboration interesting. C&T isn’t borrowing a random hardcore-looking aesthetic. They’re collaborating with Cro-Mags themselves.
This Isn't Just a Logo Hat

Anybody can order blank hats, embroider a logo on the front and call it a collection. What I like about Sam’s stuff is the detail.
Here you’ve got red-and-black construction, black-and-gold Cro-Mags embroidery, Age of Quarrel side treatment, printed underbrim artwork and a small Cro-Mags metal pin.

The theme keeps going around and under the hat. That’s what makes it feel like a collaboration instead of ordinary band merch.
Why This Collaboration Works
Motorcycles. Hot rods. Tattoos. Hardcore. Old-school counterculture. Those worlds have been running into each other in garages, clubs, shows and parking lots forever.
So Cro-Mags × Clutch & Throttle doesn’t need a long explanation. You look at it and it makes sense.

And Yeah… There's a Flannel
Dixxon also collaborated with Cro-Mags on an Age of Quarrel flannel.
I’m not making Dixxon the story here—the story is what Sam and C&T did with these hats—but look at the first photo and tell me the two weren’t meant to end up together.
Hat. Flannel. Done.
I’m calling it outfit coordination instead of irresponsible spending and I’m sticking to it.
If you’re more interested in the style side than the hardcore history, I also broke down how I pair Clutch & Throttle lids with flannels.
Go See What Sam Cooked Up
I’m not turning this into a catalog and describing every damn hat.
Go look at them.

Just remember: “I’m only looking” has probably caused more hat purchases than alcohol.
Stay Flannel, My Friends.
